Republic Day 2024: A hundred female musicians performing Indian music led the 75th Republic Day procession for the first time. On Friday, January 26, India celebrated its 75th Republic Day along the Kartavya Path in New Delhi, showcasing the strength of its military forces, cultural diversity, and “Nari Shakti.” The 75th Republic Day procession, which included the themes “Viksit Bharat” and “Bharat – Loktantra ki Matruka,” was centered around women and featured French President Emmanuel Macron as the chief guest this year. The Republic Day procession also featured a marching contingent of 95 people and a band contingent of 33 people from France. Two French Air Force Rafales and one Multi Role Tanker Transport (MRTT) aircraft joined the Indian Air Force’s aircraft during the fly-past.

For the first time, 100 female musicians performing Indian musical instruments led the 75th Republic Day procession. Women musicians performed songs by Sankh, Naadswaram, Nagada, and other performers before the march started. During the 75th Republic Day parade, 265 women on motorbikes displayed their skill as “Nari Shakti” by performing a variety of stunts that demonstrated their bravery, chivalry, and tenacity. The CRPF, BSF, and SSB women riders demonstrated the power of Indian ideals, which include yoga. Assistant commandant Seema Nag performed the ‘commandant abhivadan’ show. A performance of “Lakshita” by HC Rita Bisht and seven other people came next. Along the Kartavya Path marched the Indian Air Force marching contingent, which was led by squadron leader Rashmi Thakur and included flying lieutenant Kirit Rohil, squadron leaders Sumita Yadav and Pratiti Ahluwalia. Beneath the Himalayan Eagle in Devanagari is the IAF slogan, “Nabh Sprisham Deeptam.” The National Anthem and the National Flag were raised in accordance with tradition, and the 105-mm Indian Field Guns, an indigenous arm, were fired in a thunderous 21-gun salute. Rashtrapati Ke Angrakshak, the president’s bodyguard, escorted President Murmu and her French counterpart, Emmanuel Macron.

At the 75th Republic Day parade on the Kartavya Path, the Indian Army contingent was headed by the only operational horsed cavalry unit in the world, with mechanized columns following. Major Yashdeep Ahlawat was in charge of the Army’s 61st Cavalry contingent. Established in 1953, this is the world’s only active horse-mounted cavalry regiment, formed by combining all “State Horsed Cavalry Units.”
