Actor and 2017 Miss World Manushi Chillar talks about wanting to study medicine in her early years and not having any experience in the business. Samrat Prithviraj (2022), in which Manushi Chillar starred opposite Akshay Kumar, was a dream come true for her Bollywood debut; nonetheless, the movie’s box office performance was lackluster. Although the performer continues to see herself as “fortunate” and her career as “very exciting,” she acknowledges that things can be challenging and unusual for her as an outsider. “Having pride in oneself and believing in oneself is a benefit of being an outsider.
This is so that you may develop an inherent confidence that comes from trying new things in life—something you cannot achieve if you just venture to known waters,” explains Chillar. The 26-year-old is excited about her next releases, which include Tehran, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, and The Great Indian Family, despite the failure of her debut picture. “It’s true that being an outsider presents its share of difficulties, but that just adds to the experience since, as I’ve always felt, anything fascinating is never simple. Thus, I am looking forward to my upcoming movies,” declares the actor, who describes herself as a “introvert” but acknowledges that she also likes “being on stage, and in front of the camera.”
Chillar first encountered the world of glamour at a beauty contest, where she went on to win the title of Miss World. She acknowledges that competing in an international pageant provides you a “certain platform,” saying that “many people want to launch you, and the entire country gets to know about you.” Additionally, it exposes you to a lot of cameras before you really break into the field.
She does, however, not hesitate to highlight the differences between acting and pageantry. However, competing in a beauty contest is not the same as being an actor. Although Miss World offers a lot, you are still an outsider and must begin your adventure by learning everything there is to know about the profession. Chillar studied medicine, but instead of going into practice, he decided to pursue acting. She tells us, “I have no regrets, and I am very happy with what my life has turned out to be,” despite being happy with the decisions she made. I continue to stay involved in the healthcare industry because it remains my first interest. In addition, I genuinely adore my profession and what I’m doing. Furthermore, being a doctor is not usually a requirement for contributing to the healthcare system. There are many approaches that can be used.
